Want to foster your creative side? Does your child demonstrate a passion for the Arts? Many schools today are cutting the Arts programs at schools across the board. With little funding, and developed curriculum students are not receiving their Art classes with the ability to learn quality techniques and to strengthen their creative endeavors. Many professional careers are now focused on innovative thinkers and creative individuals. Moreover, career paths are now in the digital world such as:
- Graphic Design
- Website Design
The King Art Studio strives to help our students foster their strengths in the Arts and to help build portfolios, whether our students decide to go to a specialized school, or to college.
The Arts play an important role with our subjective thinking and with the ability to inspire. Our drawing classes are geared to help students of any age to develop their skills and to foster an appreciation for the Arts.
Drawing classes are the prerequisite for painting lessons; this is due to the vast amount of skills one needs to know for the principles of Art to progress to the next level. Our teachers have a predetermined curriculum that our students follow, however we foster our students creativity by allowing them to create what is of interest to them, so each student is treated, as an individual with different learning needs.
- Private lessons, which are great for our adults and teens.
- Joint lessons, which are meant for friends or siblings.
- Group lessons, which are determined on our website’s calendar. These days are set days with limited seating. Some may have a waiting list to join.
Our group lessons for kids would be limited to 6 students per class to ensure each students is getting the most attention possible, with smaller class sizes, the more progression.
Moreover we recommend a student older than 11 years old should be in a joint lesson or private lesson.
Our adult classes are predetermined as well, we recommend 18 and older for these lessons.
Drawing classes are the first and crucial step of the artistic process. One must first be able to draw before painting. These lessons encompass the basics of art by focusing on line work, contrast, value and composition. Students will work on various projects utilizing different mediums such as graphite pencils, charcoal and pastels.
Additionally, we will develop the students’ skills in illustration with the addition and emphasis on animation and storyboarding. Animation is defined as, “The technique of photographing successive drawings or positions of puppets or models to create an illusion of movement when the movie is shown as a sequence”. We then juxtapose into a graphic design utilizing Photoshop, in design, and illustrator suites. Animation is the development of expressions of characters, and the ability to create a personality through drawing.
Drawing is essential for portfolio building and is a must for students who want to pursue art at higher levels, whether it is for illustration, graphic design, fine arts, and more. See our program for life drawing classes for students at high school or adult level.
